Il y avait un petit moment que je n'avais pas posté une grande illustration sur Arcea. Entre la BD ( dont le premier tome est quasi fini \o/ ), un sketchbook à réimprimer, les commandes et les aléas divers et variés, je n'avais pas eu un seul moment pour m'y remettre.

Pour ceux qui ne veulent rien savoir de l'histoire, ne pas lire ce qui suit :

Cette image illustre une partie de la vie d'Elwen parmi les plus tristes. Elle vient d'être mère, mais n'arrive pas à s'en réjouir, plongée par la force des évènements dans une descente aux enfers insidieuse. Aveugle, abandonnée de tous, avec les mains couvertes de sang, elle n'arrive pas à lutter contre ce mal qui tuent les gens de sa race à petit feu : la Mélancolie.
Mais Raekwon veille. Nourrissant une colère amère pour ceux qui ont fait tant de mal à celle dont il est secrètement amoureux depuis des années, il a délaissé ses habituels champs de bataille pour livrer cet autre combat.

There was a moment that I had not posted a large illustration of Arcea. Between the comics book (whose first volume is almost finished \o/), a sketchbook to reprint, orders and contingencies many and varied, I hadn't had a moment to get back.

For those who won't know part of history, don't read that follows:

This image shows a part of life of Elwen among the saddest. She has just become mother, but can't rejoice about it, living through the force of events in an insidious descent into hell. Blind, abandoned by all, with hands covered with blood, she can't fight against this pain that kill people of her race by inches: Melancholy.
But Raekwon is on her guard. Nurturing a bitter anger for those who have done so much harm to those whom he is secretly in love for years, he abandoned his usual engaging battleground for this another fight.

C'est dans ces moments-là, en voyant de telles images, que je n'apprécie pas mon empathie. :tears:

Et pourtant j'éprouve une sensation positive en ressentant cette peine. =|

J'utilise parfois certaines images pour exorciser certaines choses plus personnelles. Cette image en fait partie. C'est peut-être pour ça qu'il y a un côté positif quelque part que l'on peut ressentir.

I think her crying is just too over dramatic, this is one of those pictures where less is more. Really beautiful otherwise.

Then it would make more sense to have her look stressed or on the verge of tears while looking at her child. Her outstretched hand and where she's looking just look completely random.
