A) The colors are all very soft, and soothing. The clothing hangs loosely on the figures and sweeps downward, generating an overall lazy or settled, laid back feeling. Very calming.
B) There is a bit of controversy in the stereotypical sense in this image. Typically it is the female who goes to the male for comfort in this manner, but in this picture it is the opposite. I think this really portrays the reality of things, that even if the male acts tough he needs compassion as well, needs to be cradled 'in the hollow of her arms.'
So yeah. I like this piece.
